English is nowhere near this even
Letter frequency in written English is wildly skewed, and a flat wheel ignores all of it:

E appears in written English somewhere around 12 percent of the time and Z around 0.07 percent, which makes E roughly 170 times more common. On this wheel they are identical.
That imbalance is exactly why a flat spin is useful. If you want a letter challenge that reflects real language, weight it. If you want one that actually tests you, leave it flat, because the difficulty in any alphabet game lives entirely in the rare letters and a frequency-weighted wheel would hand you E over and over.
The five letters that break every alphabet game
Q, X, Z, J, and V are where alphabet challenges stall, and the reason is structural rather than a matter of vocabulary. English has very few words starting with them, and in Q's case almost every one is followed by U.
Any A-to-Z challenge, whether it is foods, countries, baby names, or things in your house, will run smoothly for twenty-one letters and then stop. Planning around that in advance is most of the work, and a flat wheel is what forces you to confront it rather than saving the hard letters for later and quietly abandoning the project.
For a fairer game, agree the rule for hard letters before the first spin: either they count double, or a pass is allowed once per player, or they simply get removed. Deciding after someone draws X looks like a response to that draw.
Vowels, consonants, and the ratio nobody expects
Five of twenty-six letters are vowels, which is 19.2 percent of the alphabet. Vowels make up closer to 38 percent of actual written English, because words need them far more often than the letter count suggests.
That gap matters for word games. A random letter draw gives you a vowel less than one time in five, while any word you build will need them at roughly double that rate. Games that deal random letters usually correct for it deliberately, weighting vowels higher, and a flat wheel does not.
Weights fix it in a moment: entering 2, A through the five vowels roughly doubles their share and brings the wheel closer to how letters actually behave in words.
Using it for challenges and drills
The simplest format is one letter, one answer, under time pressure. Spin a letter and name a country, an animal, a food, or a word in a category agreed beforehand.
